Hello Fellow Truth Students,
“Who Asked You?”
Today we are experiencing some exciting weather here in Fairfield County. From my earliest days I have either been listening to or giving a commentary on the weather. And yet, I don’t recall that I have ever been asked for my commentary on the weather, and I am absolutely certain that I have never asked anyone else for theirs.
This got me to wondering about how many uninvited and unwelcome proclamations I make a day. What’s more they are irrelevant proclamations. Why are they irrelevant? I’ll tell you. They are irrelevant because they are only opinions. They have nothing to do with reality. Who honestly cares what you and I think about the weather? Do you care what I think about the weather? Or are you patiently listening to me drone on with my opinion about the weather while you are waiting to proclaim to me your opinion about the weather?
Let’s face it, we can substitute the word weather with so many other conditions in life but they are all irrelevant unless we are seeking to know correct perception about them. And in correct perception there is no opinion.
Exclaiming what I think about unimportant matters is a terrific waste of valuable use of my Christ Mind. Unless I’m seeking to awaken to my anointed self, why am I yapping on about virtually nothing? I’ll tell you why? This is my opinion, but I think it is because we have forgotten to identify ourselves as God-beings and we are trying to identify ourselves as something…anything else. ANYTHING as long as it makes me feel as if I’m somebody or something.
During this Advent month we are taking the time to remember that we are in the process of giving birth (once again) to the Christ within us. Each week we are focusing on the qualities of Advent by associating them with our Christ identity. “The Christ in me is Faith.” “The Christ in me is Joy.” “The Christ in me is Peace.” “The Christ in me is Love.”
The “Christ” is my God identification. Within God is everything I need and everything I want. It is not about asking God to give it to me as if God is withholding it from me. Rather it is about accepting it in the consciousness of God. “All things are possible with God.”
During this creative time, let’s use time wisely. Rather than proclaiming our opinions to the world (or the person sitting next to us), let’s announce our God-selves to the world by actively and consciously being our God-selves. That way nobody will have to ask what you are thinking; they will know by your light.
Happy Awakening,
Shawn
