Hello Fellow Truth Students,
“How Bitter-Sweet It Is”
Don’t you just love the thought of freedom? Don’t you just love the thought of peace? Don’t you just love the thought of security? Then what could be stopping us from experiencing these God qualities to their fullest extent? Perhaps we’re afraid freedom will cost too much. Freedom might force me to change.
Freedom will cost me my problems. Security will cost me my lack. Peace will cost me my being right. One would think we would gladly surrender all of those conditions to fully experience freedom, peace and security. That’s what makes being on this spiritual path so bitter-sweet. If we would “gladly” surrender all of our “lack” conditions and perceptions in order to experience the love of God in action then we would have already done it.
We will create good reasons for why we can’t have peace. There is always a really “good reason” why security and freedom are just out of our reach. Hence the bitter-sweet part of this journey we call life. Baloney! There really isn’t any good reason why. Many of us are just too afraid to make the supposed sacrifice. The thing is, it seems to me that it would be practical to try it and see what happens. To stay with the thought of Truth and ride out the storms of anxiety that are likely to come up as we transition our thinking from sacrifice to freedom.
Try it as an exercise. Commit for a definite period of time that you are willing to experience peace, freedom and security, and you are willing to have the thoughts, say the words, and take the actions required to reinforce them. Be it six months, a year, whatever feels right (Commit to today and notice the change). If this feels like a viable option to you, talk it over with Spirit within and go for it.
Congratulations on the Sweet Life,
Shawn
